Casey Shawl by Louet
Louet yarn is a new product for us in the store. I have had their swifts since I opened; these are lovely wooden swifts that are really heirloom products. They cater to spinners and dyers with rovings, dye, carding equipment and more. The yarn is manufactured in Belgium and brought to Canada. They are a Canadian Company, and Pam, one of the principles stopped by Knit night one Friday, bringing yarn samples and garments for us to try on and talk about. I’ve brought in a good colour selection of three of their yarns, along with patterns for each. EuroFlax is a wet spun linen, which means the roving is run through a hot water bath in order to bind the fibers together thus creating a fine yarn. Louet yarns are manufactured in Belgium, generally considered to grow the best flax in the world. MerLin is a combination of Merino wool and Linen. It’s one of their most popular products, and we have a selection of colours in the store now. I’ll talk more about Mohair in another post, but their KidLin is a combination of kid Mohair and linen.
